Mt Sugarloaf (4237') ME, November '98

We (Jen Wilcox, Pat Brown and your servant) headed up for a overnight hike to Mount Sugarloaf (4237').

We started hike up late; the funny thing is that we were not expecting to do winter camping (although we proporly prepared, except for somebody who did not bring a pad but we won't say any names). The dogs were wearing an orange vest because the hike took place during the hunting season.

The slope for the most part was not steep. Because we could not find the trail (probably it has not been broken in yet), we went up on closed ski trails to the top. It was nice to have a very wide trail.
Here is Pat and Jen going up the trail. Some parts of the trail were steep.

Here we set up camp on the trail after having been to the top (where it was extremely windy and cold). I was afraid that we would be woken up by a ski patrol since my yellow tent is VERY bright and visible (this did not happen).

Finally, your servant cooking AREPAS (A venezuelan dish, made up pre-cooked corn flour made into a disc like patty which was filled in this case with black beans and avocados) at 20 degrees Farenheit.
